What is it?
The Senior Citizen Prom is back this year! The target audience for this event is the seniors in our local community as well as surrounding towns. The Prom takes place at the town of New Fairfield’s Senior Center. This year a group of girls organized the entire event deciding on a theme, decorations, food and beverages as well as all the small details the event required the day of.
Making it Happen
The Senior Citizen Prom is categorized as a Public Relations Project. Similarly to Pancakes with Frosty, the prom requires generous donations from surrounding local businesses providing items such as food and raffle prizes. In order to put on a successful event, volunteers are needed as well.
The type of Project
Public Relations project: The purpose of the Public Relations Project is to provide an opportunity for the chapter members to demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating a single public relations campaign conducted by the chapter. The campaign may focus on any topic or subject of interest to the chapter.
