MR. REBEL 2020

The Process:
This years Mr. Rebel male beauty pageant was certainly a show to be remembered. With chapter officers Angela Cupo, Morgan Begley, and Erin Forsberg stepping up to the plate, deciding to orchestrate this show as their DECA states project, the competition of who would be the "best of the west" was officially underway. However, before the event could possibly take place, a great deal of work was to be completed beforehand. Whether it was planning exactly how the event would run, gathering a group of male participants grades 9-12 willing to compete, or promoting the show to members of both NFHS and the community, this group exceeded the standards for what needed to be done.

The Event:
Hosted by period A3 Marketing II students Shane Mallory and Manny Cipriani, the nights festivities began with the introductions of both the contestants and their escorts. Those introduced included juniors Bobby Williams, Aidan Ford, and Michael Pederson along with seniors Nick Gephart, Wilson Brawley, and officer Ronan Scocozza. First up was the group dance in which all contestants joined together in a prior choreographed performance displaying the most important ability a cowboy must have: dance. Next up was the talent section of the show. All contestants had previously prepared a talent that would be put on display for all those in attendance truly exemplifying why they were "the best of the west." Of many impressive talents, those that truly stood out was a jaw dropping Michael Pederson magic trick, a dual threat geography/banjo performance from Wilson Brawley, and a heart warming Ronan Scocozza piano performance. Following the elimination of two contestants on behalf of judges Mr. Spencer, Mr. Padilla, and Ms. Maloney, these aspiring sheriffs laced up their dancing boots once again to take part in the solo freestyle round. Following a riveting round in which scuba flippers were broken and flips were attempted, the judges lassoed two more contestants off the stage. Now it was time for the final round in which we were left with the final contestants Aidan Ford and Ronan Scocozza to battle it out at high noon. This round consisted of a question and answer period designed to truly see if these young men had what it takes to be crowned Mr. Rebel. Finally, after a nail biting voting poll in which the audience had the opportunity to digitally enter their votes, Ronan Scocozza was awarded the title of Mr. Rebel 2020!
