WARM HANDS WARM HEARTS

As an NFHS DECA chapter, it is our goal to not only learn and discover more about the marketing world through hands on projects, but to help those in need. Therefore, in an effort to make a direct personal impact upon those in our community, A3 Marketing II students Hailey Killian, Sophia Ficarotta, and officer Allie Santoro worked to devise a state competition project doing just that. In order to give back, this group personally reached out to the Dorothy Day Hospitality House, an organization in Danbury CT serving both as a soup kitchen and homeless shelter, to coordinate a way in which they can help. This communication resulted in the idea of a donation drive amongst all of New Fairfield High School in which students and faculty were asked for their generous donations of items such as clothing, food, and toiletries. Following the extremely successful donation period, the products were personally delivered to Dorothy Day, giving these girls the enlightening experience of truly making a difference in the lives of those who may be less fortune.

Allie, Sophia, and Hailey's hard work truly paid off at this years DECA State Competitions as they came in second place overall in the "Community Giving Project" section qualifying for DECA National Competitions!!!
