As the first enacted New Fairfield DECA state competition event of the 2019-2020 school year, Rebel Idol truly set the tone for all projects to come. Organized and ran by Marketing II students Briana Vasquez-Peragine, Nicholas Dimyan, and JohnCarlo Carretta, this group worked tirelessly to ensure a night in which the students of NFHS had the ability to display their vocal gifts in the form of friendly competition. The talented contestants included Emma Kersting, Cole Edgerton, Julia Bendlin, Julia Berardo, the duo of Nicholas Gephart and Ronan Scocozza, and Maija Evans. Following a series of incredible performances from each contestant through each round, the two finalists came down to Cole Edgerton and Julia Berardo. Despite being an extremely difficult decision, the judges voted Julia Berardo as winner rewarding her with the crown of Rebel Idol champion 2019!
