“ Help Warm the Hearts of Our Community” is all about helping people who are less fortunate by bringing our community together by asking them to donate everyday items. We reached out to a local shelter Dorothy Day Hospitality House in Danbury asking if we could donate. We spread awareness by presenting to our classmates, emailing the staff of our school which was forward to our schools district by our superintendent, and setting up a flyer and box at our local gym. We received numerous bags full of donations. Bags were filled with cans of food, ramen, spices, condiments, blankets, and so much more. We organized and separated all of the donations into boxes in preparation and soon after delivered them to the shelter. With a thank you note the workers and volunteers of Dorothy Day stressed how grateful they were for our donations.
