DECA SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT CONFERENCE
ORLANDO FLORIDA
Trip Overview:
From February 5th to the 10th, a group of NFHS Marketing II students made the trip to attend the DECA Sports and Entertainment Conference taking place in Orlando Florida. Said trip would provide those students in attendance with the opportunity to receive an inside look at the business side of sports and entertainment through both seminars and smaller group instruction. Along with the informational side of the trip, our students got the chance to soak up the Florida sun in the midst of a frigid Connecticut winter, spending their free time at both Universal Studios and Disney's Magic Kingdom! Those in attendance included Shane Mallory, Ronan Scocozza, Mikey Altobelli, Erin Forsberg, Morgan Begley, Angela Cupo, and Lauren Cartossa.

Departure:
Eager to get their trip underway, our Marketing students accompanied by Mr. Scherf took off from Westchester Airport on the morning of February 5th, and thus their vacation of marketing paradise had begun.

Seminars:
The Marketing II students attending the Sports and Entertainment conference truly came away with a great deal of information and exposure as to what goes on behind the scenes of your favorite sports teams and entertainment services. The informative presenters who helped share their knowledge of the industry included the head of marketing and sales for the Orlando Magic, the head of the Magic's 2K sports team, and a series of marketing executives deriving from Universal Studios.

Free Time:
When they weren't learning about the ins and outs of just how Florida has become a leader in the industries of sports and entertainment, our DECA students could be found enjoying dinner together, glow bowling, or spending time in the incredible parks serving as the perfect backdrop to this conference!
